Hello! My name is Ms. Kailynn Barbour, and I am a Language Arts teacher at Franklin High School. I am thrilled to be returning to my 5th year of teaching at Franklin High School for the 2017-2018 school year as a teacher of Concurrent English Program (CEP) English 12 , ELA Essentials (EE) 12, and the Poetry Today elective.
I was born and raised in Edison, New Jersey. As the oldest of three children (and 14 cousins!), I often found myself playing teacher as a child. I was able to make my dreams a reality by attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick, where I earned my BA in Arts & Sciences, with a focus on English and Creative Writing, and my M. Ed in Secondary English Education at the Graduate School of Education.
In my spare time, I enjoy writing poetry, listening to terribly cheesy music, and spending time with my family, friends, and dogs. I'm excited to be expecting my first child in November 2018. I've married into cheering for the Giants, Mets, and Devils so I'm sure he'll end up being a fan of those teams as well. Yes, I am the teacher with the Harry Potter classroom-- I love all things Harry Potter!
